GENERAL INFORMATION
Turbomeca USA provides training categorized as 1st and 2nd line maintenance. Course durations are found in the schedule of classes. CLASS INFORMATION
DRESS CODE
Casual attire is recommended for all training courses. Class Time at Grand Prairie
All classes start at 7:30 a.m. and conclude daily at 3:30 p.m. . unless otherwise stated. Lunch is from 11:45 a.m. - 1:00 p.m. There is no cafeteria located at our facility. There are many fast food and full-service restaurants within a 5-mile radius of our facility. Students attending courses should not book departure flights before 6:00 p.m. on the last day of the course. Travel time to DFW Airport from Turbomeca USA is approximately 20 - 30 minutes. The Turbomeca USA Customer Training Department has been fully operational since August, 1990, using the latest techniques and equipment. The air-conditioned classrooms are part of the Turbomeca USA complex with adequate entrance and parking facilities. An attached air-conditioned shop is provided for practical, hands-on type training. Since 1990, Turbomeca USA has trained more than 2000 students and offered more than 200 classes. The maintenance courses offered by the Turbomeca USA Customer Training Department apply to the Arriel and Arrius engines. Training for other models may be arranged by request with adequate notice.
CURRICULUM
In order to ensure standardization and quality control of course content and methodology of instruction, a uniform procedure and format for the development, preparation, revision and maintenance of instruction programs is used the Customer Training Department.
OBJECTIVES
The Students must demonstrate an understanding of the fundamental operations and skills necessary to maintain the engine in an airworthy condition. The student will be able to perform, in accordance with the appropriate publications, all operations necessary to maintain the engine up to, but not including, major overhaul or major repair of the engine or its components. Upon successful completion of the first line maintenance course, students must be able to utilize the appropriate engine maintenance documentation to properly troubleshoot engine problems and identify faults in engine systems and specific components. After training to the 2nd line maintenance level, students will be able to completely remove and reinstall the engine modules and components as approved in the maintenance manual.
EXAMINATIONS
Passing grades for all academic examinations will be no less than 75%.
GRADUATION CERTIFICATES
Upon meeting the criteria for successful completion of a course of instruction, the student will be issued a certificate of training.
CLASS SIZE
To ensure quality in Technical Education, Turbomeca USA must limit class size to a maximum of 10 students.
PREREQUISITES FOR COURSE ENROLLMENT Acceptance in the course is based on the requirement that the student possess the basic experience and skill levels as follows: - For 1st line (O-level) maintenance courses, participants must be aeronautical maintenance technicians with at least one year's experience on gas turbine engines.
- Participants must understand and speak the language in which the course in which they are enrolling will be given. If this is not the case, TM calls on the services of an interpreter.
OFFSITE TRAINING AT CUSTOMER'S FACILITY
Classes conducted offsite at the customer's facility shall duplicate the curriculum as closely as possible as for those classes conducted at Turbomeca USA. All necessary visual aids, special tools, the training engine and other pertinent training aids will be transported to the customer's facility for use in instruction. The graduation certificate will include the location of the customer's facility.
